Mohamed Salah Offers Apology to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has shared that Salah apologised to the group of players in the wake of the fallout from his public comments.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a vital match following criticising the club and suggesting his connection to the head coach had broken down.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”
The head coach has chosen not to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.
Looking Ahead
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
The midfielder also implied that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “I get that there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Positive Results
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the games following the initial controversy. He feels the forward's comments were not designed to cause disruption.
“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a place of caring,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and on a positive run.”
